I began my career in my passion space - Retail and was very fortunate to work under the leadership of Mr. Kishore Biyani and his team in a phase when Pantaloons was expanding from 7 to 23 stores across India. Being part of a three people revenue planning team, I had the privilege to work on location planning, market research, Sales per Square Foot, Visual Merchandising, Target Setting and even got to experiment on merchandise displays. I avidly lapped up the experience this retail giant provided a young mind and worked to design, test and launch a new store format labelled Top 10.
MotherHood and Family

In 2011, when I first became a mother, I did not expect to not want to leave my child. Having been a career first person, I was keen to pick up where I left off at three months maternity at my workplace. Little did I know that the bundle of masti back home is a magnet for my love andattention. The experience of being a mother is greater than the college degree learning we prep for all our lives. Hailing from a nuclear multi-cultural family and marrying into a traditional joint family also taught me many people-lessons. Through this phase and right up to delivering and raising my second child, I explored my entrepreneurial side, battled weight gain, health issues, marital problems, personal loss and am gleeful to say that I wouldn’t have it any other way, except for the person I lost.

After I first tasted being an entrepreneur in my own venture and savoured the failures and successes of it, I have approached every project or job profile with an entrepreneur mindset. This helped me take full ownership of my actions and visualize the business and its journey. For this I have my early mentors to thank who, in every corporate profile that I signed up for, had a prototype for me to design or an idea to test or a covid business to turnaround. Personally, I have immense gratitude for my mentors and teachers.
